When the United States was locked in an escalating cold war with the former Soviet Union staring in the early 1950’s, both sides tested their atomic and nuclear arsenals with open air tests and blasts.
And aside from the horrendous environmental damage, other more exotic tales have been reported over the years.
One such true creepy story comes from the Mojave Desert to the north of Kingman, Arizona. Did some kind of alien ship (or “flying saucer” in the parlance of the time) sustain damage from the 1953 open air test at Yucca Flats in Nevada and come down along with its alien pilots?
Were others involved who might of stolen wreckage from the crashed ship and hid it from the Army’s UFO crash retrieval teams?
But surely the strangest part of the whole Mojave Desert mystery, are the stories circulating that one of the alien crew members survived – was captured by US forces – and ultimately became an asset to the teams at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base who were tasked with reverse engineering the captured UFO!
A another strange, and somewhat scary story from the master of Mojave Mysteries, Author M.L. Behrman.
Growing up, I’m sure you heard stories about people who picked up hitchhikers …usually something strange happened …or worse.
Or the stories of people encountering strange and bizarre figures along the road, almost always somewhere remote and during the darkest hours of the night.
In the Mojave, it’s often called “The Road Ghost Phenomenon” and countless people have sworn it happened to them – or someone they knew – or heard about.
But does it have a historical counterpart? Let Author M.L. Behrman tell you a tale that might go back hundreds of years…
It’s a common enough bit of haunted lore heard across the country, but in the Mojave Desert, it has a slightly different flavor…
People have always loved ghost stories, and like many urban legends (which does not mean to imply this is not a true scary story) this one gets better and better – whether one goes back in time to when the horse and buggy was the favorite mode of transport, right up to modern times when truckers and others have reported encountering this fascinating Mojave desert mystery.
How about you, ever seen a ghost? Would you WANT to?
